What is your most cherished family tradition?
My mother’s cousin lent her an Austrian- crystal crown to wear for her wedding as “something borrowed.” As a child, I loved how my mother looked like a princess in the wedding photos, and I always hoped to wear it when I got married. Recently I did, and I felt like the princess my mother was 40 years ago. It’s becoming a tradition: A cousin wore it when she was married, and my eight-year-old niece has asked if she can, too. We told her it will be waiting for her.
