What is your most cherished family tradition?
When I was growing up, my mother always sat down with me for at least 45 minutes after school each day—no interruptions allowed. She would make a pot of tea and some baked treat. She wouldn’t quiz me about schoolwork or lecture me; it was a time for us to talk about what was important to me, whether trivial or cataclysmic. Now that I have a little girl, my husband and I both sit down with her each day. This is her time to bounce ideas off us and let us know what is going on in her preschool world.
