We sampled four versions of store-bought lemonade to find the tastiest. Here's how they ranked.
1. Frozen Concentrate
Testers chose frozen concentrate as the all-around best, calling it "fresh" and "authentic." One said, "It makes me feel like a kid again!"
RS pick: Minute Maid Premium Lemonade frozen concentrate.
Cost (per 8-ounce serving): about 22 cents.
2. Dry Mix
This was an easy second. Testers enjoyed its "even consistency."
RS pick: Country Time Lemonade Flavor Drink Mix.
Cost: about 13 cents.
3. Shelf-Stable Ready-to-Drink
This low-maintenance version did not fare well. Testers called it "artificial" and said it "left a bad aftertaste."
Cost: about 82 cents.
4. Refrigerated Ready-to-Drink
This ranked last "syrupy," "thick," and "too sweet."
Cost: about 31 cents.
