Your new cell phone displays your sister’s
picture every time she calls, and your old
one sits unused,
Toy Story–style, in your top drawer. Surely someone else can love it since it still works, after all. Go to the nonprofit Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation’s website,
www.call2recycle.org (or call 877-273-2925), to find the nearest drop-off center where cell phones are either overhauled for reuse or recycled. You can also look into returning your old phone to your
service provider. No matter whom you give it to, be sure to get a receipt for a tax deduction.
