The Problem
A veneer that has separate from its base materials, such as the 30-year-old Formica countertop that came with the house or the edging to inexpensive cabinet shelves and drawers.

The Glue to Use
Duro All-Purpose Spray Adhesive ($4 for 11 ounces) is heat- and water-resistant, making it suitable for use in the kitchen or the bathroom.

How to Use It
  • Apply a medium coat to both surfaces. Let set for one minute, then press the surfaces together.
  • Apply pressure or a clamp for up to five minutes.

  • Sticking Points
  • This glue isn’t strong enough for structural furniture repairs, such as reattaching a table leg.

  • Cleanup
  • Wipe moist glue off hands and surfaces with a damp cloth. If that doesn’t work, try mineral spirits.
