While it may seem that everyone has his hand out for a little something extra, there are, in fact, plenty of folks who never expect a tip.

Do not tip:
Public servants (firefighters, police officers, etc.)
Doctors
Lawyers
Accountants
Teachers
Security personnel
Airline ticket agents
Flight attendants
Personnel of resorts or cruise ships with a no-tipping policy

What to give instead:
Repeat business
Positive word of mouth
Professional referrals
A heartfelt thank-you note or letter
A letter to the person's supervisor.
