How do you get ahead for the holidays?

My husband and I host a party at our farmhouse on Christmas Eve. Working off a list created over the summer, we begin cleaning in early October, taking on one major job per weekend. By mid-December, our home looks holiday-perfect and we can relax and enjoy our friends and family.
