Not everyone has a mule team to move large potted plants. If your pots are going to stay put, make sure you have enough hose to reach them. If you have a large, round pot, you can tilt and roll it, or use the Heavy-Duty Plant Dolly ($28, Charley's Greenhouse & Garden, www.charleysgreenhouse.com). It transports up to 250 pounds with its five ball-bearing — mounted wheels.

But if you have a square planter, you'll need the mules — or this cast-iron trolley ($29, Gardener's Supply, www.gardeners.com, square or round). It's elegant enough for display and strong enough to move up to 175 pounds.
