You probably gave up on multipurpose products after the
pasta-maker-and-showerhead-in-one failed to live up to its
promise. But you may be surprised by the Eureka
Multi-Purpose steamer ($160,
www.amazon.com), a machine that generates steam and releases it
under pressure, cleaning without using chemicals. The
eco-friendly steamer won't replace your standard vacuum (it
doesn't work on carpets), but it may take the place of your
all-purpose cleaner, since it removes tough stains, like grease,
from almost any hard, nonporous surface, including floors and
windows. It also takes wrinkles out of cotton clothing. Tight on
storage space? Also consider Eureka's smaller Hotshot steamer
($70); it has all the same features, except it
doesn't clean floors.
