Flowers in the bedroom are a luxury you can indulge in more often than only on special occasions if you choose dramatic blooms that look good one or two to a vase. Two black calla lilies and bamboo shoots make a striking arrangement. It's even more striking when you tint the water to match. Red and blue food coloring create a lavender hue. The trick is to make sure you have everything you need for a good, long lie-in namely, a big pot for coffee or tea, a couple of generous glasses for champagne, and a nice big platter for fluffy scrambled eggs or chocolate croissants.
Menu: Focus on quality over quantity. Event planner and florist Antony Todd says, "Wake up with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, scrambled eggs cooked with unsalted butter until they're just set but still soft and sprinkled with kosher salt, and warm French bread." Brew a pot of hazelnut coffee and serve it with cream. If you or your partner is a tea drinker, indulge in an exotic variety of loose tea (visit

Music: Think romance. Nat King Cole,
The Greatest Hits; Shirley Horn,
You Won't Forget Me; Zakir Hussain,
Making Music. Words of Wisdom: "Get all the senses," says Todd. Clean, soft linens, freshly ground coffee, a few fragrant flowers, and good music are a recipe for romance and relaxation.
