Since this is the person or couple who will care for your children, think carefully before making a decision. Siblings and close friends who your children know well are generally good choices. But ask yourself first whether your children will feel comfortable in their home, following their rules. While your parents might seem like good candidates, would they be able to handle the stress? No matter whom you choose, financial stability is a must. Ask the person or people you have in mind whether they would be able to shoulder the responsibilities of guardianship. And always name a successor guardian in case the person (or couple) you choose is unable to step in.
