Five crystal-clear tips:
Don't put fine stemware, especially crystal, in the dishwasher.
Wash it in a towel-lined sink in lukewarm water, one piece at a
time, with a mild dish soap. Don't soak glasses, especially if they have silver or gold
accents. To avoid chipping and scratching glassware, remove your rings
and bracelets and hold stemware by the bowl. Invert glasses and let them drip-dry to prevent water spots. For stubborn spots, swirl a handful of uncooked rice in glasses
filled with vinegar or lemon juice and water.
