If you own too many panties, camisoles, and demicups to fit in
one or two dresser drawers, take your storage system to the next
level: Buy a lingerie chest. Or two. "For years, I kept my
lingerie in plastic bins on the shelves in my closet," says a
lingerie-addicted executive in New York, who prefers to remain
anonymous. "Even though my things were neatly folded, it was
impossible to get dressed every day. Then, in a recent nesting
surge, I bought two lingerie chests." The dressers, which stand
about five feet tall and two feet wide, have pull-out jewelry
trays on top and several shallow drawers underneath. "I put
easy-access items in the top drawers: panties, which I fold and
keep in rows by color," says the executive. "In front I have
stacks of black and white. Behind them I have fancier panties
that I don't wear as often." She has also designated separate
drawers for everyday bras, sports bras, swimsuits, and
special-occasion items "bustiers and camisoles, things I wear
only for evening." she says. Her chests are from Stickley, but
many companies make them. The Stickley Metropolitan lingerie
chest is $1,774 (see
www.stickley.com for retail locations).
