What are your back-to-school traditions?
I have two daughters, ages seven and 10, and our back-to-school
ritual is set up like a spa. We work from head to toe:
1. Wash, condition, and apply some hot oil or homemade
treatments to the hair.
2. Do mini-facials.
3. Give ourselves manicures and pedicures.
4. Run an aromatherapy bath, with scented oils and soaps.
5. Put on a classical CD and light candles.
6. Make fruit drinks or herbal teas.
7. Dry off and apply lotion.
8. Relax and talk about whatever is on my daughters' minds.
I must say, they really enjoy this, and it gives us quality time
together in what can sometimes be a crazy and nervous time. They
look forward to this ritual every year.
