What are your back-to-school traditions?
When I was growing up, the one true sign that summer vacation
was over was the presence of the local fair in a nearby town.
The big thing for my sisters and me was to go to the fair at
least a couple of nights of the week it was running with our
friends, hang out, eat lots of fair food, and when we were
older check out boys.
Now that I am the mother of two grade-schoolers, I've passed on
the fair-going tradition. It's a last hurrah for the summer.
