raincoat, return them (with thanks) before you leave.
If you lose or damage something, own up to it. Offer a
replacement or repairs.
Never, ever complain. And show your appreciation. Compliment the
decor. Compliment the cooking. Even if you hated the visit, says
manners expert Letitia Baldrige, "never criticize your hosts behind their backs."
