Paul Whicheloe
Flowers and sunshine herald the arrival of spring. To get into
the spirit, start by stripping windows of heavy draperies. In
their place, hang a single sheer cotton panel on a tension rod
or a piece of bamboo (available from florists,
who can cut it to measure). Then make up your bed with pale
floral-print sheets or floral pillowcases paired with crisp
white linens. Drape bedside tables with vintage floral
tablecloths (they don't have to match) or white matelasse
runners. Finally, add a potted plant or two (try a Reiger
begonia, which will flower indoors if it gets enough sun), so
you can wake up every morning to the bright green of spring.
