Limit the hassle of security delays at the airport with these
strategies:
Travel with a round-trip ticket bought with a credit card.
Security is more likely to search you if you have a one-way ticket
or you paid with cash.
Limit carry-on bags. Travelpro's new Rolling Tote ($140,
Bloomingdale's, 800-232-1854) — introduced in response to the new
FAA regulations that allow you to carry on only one bag and one
purse or briefcase — has a laptop compartment and is compact enough
to fit beneath most seats. (Why worry about those elbow-throwing
early birds who score all the space in the overhead bin?)
Pack hair spray, large perfume bottles, and sharp objects in
checked luggage.
Ship ahead. If you must carry on a box, don't seal it until
you've checked in.
