In September, enjoy a bunch of cut dahlias or hydrangeas, some of the last fresh flowers of the season. And to make them last all year, air-dry them. Wrap a rubber band around the stems, weave a paper clip through the rubber band, and bend the clip so you can suspend the bunch upside down from a hook in a dark, dry place.
