Take a medium Styrofoam ball (available at most craft stores) and wind a strand of holiday mini-lights around it as if you were winding a ball of yarn. Tie if off, then tape the end of the strand to the ceiling, or lasso it around a curtain rod, and run the plug down to a socket. You can hang the orb in an entryway, in a window, or over a table. Suspend three or four balls of varying size together for an even more illuminating display.
