To bathe your home in the next best thing to natural sunlight, try color-enhancing incandescent bulbs. Both the GE Reveal and the Philips Natural lines filter out the dreary yellow tones that can make you look washed-out. The light from these bulbs more closely mimics daylight, so colors look more vivid. The downside: These pale blue bulbs are up to twice as expensive as standard bulbs, and they last only four to six months (just like winter).
