Whether your style is big band or hip hop, it pays to do your homework. At your interview, ask your potential musicians when and where you can see them perform live; if that’s not possible, inquire about CD’s, DVD’s or a myspace.com page where you can watch a previous performance. Details really matter here so find out how many musicians and vocalists there will be; how large their repertoire is; and how long they’ll play.
