Here's a trick for simplifying the daily grind of making lunches: First, designate a snack basket and place in it prepackaged foods (granola bars, applesauce cups) and plastic bags filled with single servings of pretzels, crackers, cookies, or whatever your family likes. Next, dedicate a drawer or a shelf in the refrigerator to apples and individual lunch portions of yogurt, string cheese, celery, carrots, grapes, etc. All anyone has to do in the morning is make a sandwich, grab a Baggie and something from the fridge shelf, and go. Easy as 1-2-3.
