Where are Real Simple's recipes?
All of
Real Simple’s recipes each with a nutritional breakdown have been compiled into a site feature called
Kitchen Assistant. In addition to searching, you can save recipes, both your own and
Real Simple's, in personalized cookbooks, put together and print menus, and create grocery shopping lists. For more about this, see
Kitchen Assistant.
Does the website contain all of the stories from Real Simple magazine?
Before we put together RealSimple.com, we asked readers what they most wanted on the website. The overwhelming response was for practical, everyday solutions and tips. That's why you'll find RealSimple.com stocked with all our information about organizing, cooking and entertaining, cleaning, and life skills, including etiquette, problem-solving products, holidays and gifts, money, family, travel, home decorating and maintenance, gardening, and our popular New Uses for Old Things and Easy Upgrades. You can find these 7,000 solutions using the search box at the top of every page.
How do I respond to the “Your Words” question?
You’ll find the latest “Your Words” question, which changes monthly, and a link to the response form on the website’s
Magazine page within the Magazine & More channel. Each month, we post reader responses that appear in the magazine as well as additional answers on RealSimple.com.
How do I contact Real Simple editors?
We welcome your questions and feedback. An easy way to reach us is by using the “Contact the Editors” form located on the
Magazine page within the Magazine & More channel. Please note that
Real Simple tries to respond to every letter we receive, and regrettably, not all e-mails may be answered in a timely manner. If you have questions about your subscription, please go to our online
Customer Service or call 800-881-1172.
Do you publish writer's guidelines?
We don't have writer's guidelines because we rarely publish unsolicited submissions. However, if you have something that you really think fits in with
Real Simple, you are certainly welcome to send it here. To send your idea, please use this
submission form. We will forward it the appropriate editor. And if there is any interest, someone will contact you.
What is Screen Name Service and why do I need it?
Screen Name Service (SNS), free to RealSimple.com users, is an important security device that protects all the personal information that you may store on RealSimple.com. For instance, when you save solutions in
Your Organizer, provide personal information in Your Profile, Rate & Review a solution, or use
Kitchen Assistant’s customized features (Favorite Cookbooks, Favorite Menus, Shopping Lists), SNS enables us to ensure that no one besides you can access these areas. It’s how we make sure you are you. The first time you use one of these personalized tools, including rating a solution on the website, you will be asked to provide or create a screen name and a password. Subsequently, when you use one of these tools, you will need to provide your screen name and password, so please keep it handy. If you do not use any of these tools, you will not need to sign up for SNS.
What is “Your Profile” and what happens to the personal information I provide?
You can (but are not required to) save your name, e-mail address, and home city and state in
“Your Profile.” Why? By storing this information on RealSimple.com, we can personalize your experience on the website. For instance, each time you e-mail a solution to someone else using the site’s e-mail function, your name and e-mail address will automatically appear in the e-mail form. Similarly, when you rate and review a solution, your name, e-mail, and locale will already be filled in. (If you want to omit or change the information that appears with your review, you can.) Simply put, it’s another way we try to make using RealSimple.com easier for you. We do not collect your information for any other purpose (for more, see our
privacy policy) and we have secured the website so that only you have access to your information.
How do I subscribe or unsubscribe to Newsletters?
To subscribe to RealSimple.com’s newsletters,
click here or on the link located at the top left of every page. To stop receiving newsletters, click on or paste the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of every newsletter into a browser window. This will take you to a page where you can request to be removed from the newsletter list.

(download it here for free) or Safari 1.2 if your computer is a Macintosh
