Decorating With An Eclectic Style
The 1920s house where Kim and her family host their newborn visitors is both lovely and lived-in—you feel as if you could
put your drink down anywhere, and there’s casual beauty in every corner. Looking around, you would never guess that the place
is decorated almost exclusively with items picked up curbside, scouted at thrift stores, or hauled home from church sales.
The dining room is a collection of dark furniture with a modern chandelier (purchased from a friend) that has followed Kim from home to home for 20 years. In the kitchen, stacks of mixed white dishes, battered wooden bowls, and ancient cast-iron cookware create rustic-chic tableaux.
