You won’t have to drive to an IKEA store just to get your meatball fix this summer. The Swedish retailer is launching the #TogetherWeEat Food Truck, visiting Chicago and New York City in July. The truck is an extension of a previous contest, “Together, We Eat,” which IKEA launched last fall that aimed to celebrate and find out how food brings people together.

Lucky visitors to the food truck will get free samples of the classic KÖTTBULLAR with lingonberry sauce, plus two new creations: the Buffalo Chicken Bite and the Veggie California Stack. Plus, the truck will also offer lingonberry juice boxes, gingersnaps, and raspberry cookies. At certain stops, there will also be communal “pop-up” seating set up with IKEA furniture and games so people can hang out and enjoy their snacks. “We wanted to allow consumers to taste a variety of delicious and healthy food options found at IKEA Restaurants and IKEA Swedish Food Markets,” Peter Ho, head of food-product development at IKEA U.S., said in a press release.

The truck will make a stop at the Wicker Park Fest on July 23-24, plus “surprise” stops on July 20-22 in Chicago. Then, it will head over to New York for the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival on July 30 and “surprise” stops in Brooklyn on July 26-29. For more information on specific times and locations, check out TogetherWeEat.com/FoodTruck.
