A broken-down bird roasts much faster than a whole one. And while a butcher can sell you ready-to-roast pieces, it’s not hard to tackle a full turkey at home (no need to be, er, chicken).
Step 1: Thread 4 or 5 kumquats onto a wooden skewer.
Step 2: Write a guest’s name on a strip of paper. Curl the paper by running a scissor blade along its length.
Step 3: Coil the paper curl around the kumquats.
