Making sure that the water is very hot, dunk your measuring spoon into the glass; don’t dry off the spoon.

Immediately use the heated spoon to measure the ingredient—the heat will keep it from adhering, so it slides right off into your mixing bowl, ensuring that you get the full measurement.
