Place the jalapeno in a mortar and mash to release the juices. Scoop the avocado flesh into the mortar. Add the lime juice and cilantro and crush until chunky. Add the tomato, mix well, and season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.

  1. Check 1/2 fresh jalapeno, sliced
  2. Check 2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
  3. Check 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  4. Check 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves
  5. Check 1 small tomato, cut into small dice
  6. Check salt and freshly ground pepper
