Grapefruit and Blood Orange Spritz with Campari Ice Cubes

Pop the frozen cubes out of their tray and store in a resealable bag in the freezer. They make a cool treat in hot weather, or simply dropped into a glass of sparkling water. As they begin to melt, they flavor the water—and you get a nice little zing at the end.

Ingredients

  1. Check For the Campari cubes:
  2. Check ½ cup Campari
  3. Check ½ cup blood orange juice, from about 1½ oranges
  4. Check 1 cup filtered water
  5. Check For each cocktail:
  6. Check 1 ounce botanical gin, such as Bombay Sapphire (optional)
  7. Check 2 ounces grapefruit juice
  8. Check 2 ounces blood orange juice, from ½ orange
  9. Check 3-4 Campari cubes

Directions

  1. Make the cubes: Mix together the Campari, blood orange juice, and filtered water and pour into ice cube tray. Freeze overnight.
  2. For each cocktail: Combine the gin, grapefruit juice, blood orange juice, and 3 to 4 Campari ice cubes in a large glass. Top with sparkling water and an orange wedge.
