Ingredients

  1. Check 3/4cup sugar
  2. Check 1 lemon, thinly sliced

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with ¾ cup water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the lemon slices and simmer until tender and translucent, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and let cool completely on a rack before placing on the cake.
