- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 12 cups popped plain popcorn (from two 3.5-ounce bags)
- 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (such as Maldon)
- Cook the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter foams and browns, 6 to 8 minutes.
- Stir in the sugar and 1 teaspoon water until dissolved.
- Toss with the popcorn and flaky sea salt.
