  1. Spread the jam on one piece of the bread. Top with the Cheddar and sandwich with the remaining slice of bread. 
  2. Spread 1/4 tablespoon butter on each side of the sandwich.
  3. Heat in a skillet over medium heat until the cheese melts, 2 minutes per side.
