How to Pick a Shade 
First things first: Nude doesn’t mean concealer-colored. “It’s actually a fusion of flesh and tan—your lip color, but enhanced,” says Romero Jennings, a MAC runway makeup artist. To determine your best nude, apply one, then flash a big, gummy smile in the mirror. “Your gums don’t have to match your lips, but they shouldn’t look too light or dark next to them,” he says.

What to Pair With 
Nude goes with anything, but for extra drama (a.m. or p.m.), add copious amounts of liner, shadow, and mascara.
