Red and Nude Lipsticks for Fall
Want something to smile about? Two of the season’s biggest makeup trends—red lips and nude lips—are worthwhile investments that you can wear for years to come.
Bold Red
There’s no reason to be red with envy at the Marilyns and models of the world. Everyone can wear this iconic shade—and it
always adds polish to your look.
How to Pick a Shade
“Brick red looks beautiful if your skin is very dark,” says Fiona Stiles, a makeup artist in Los Angeles. If your complexion
is golden brown, opt for a true red, with no hint of blue or orange. Orange reds suit Latinas and women with olive skin, while
the very fair fare best with a cool blue red (think Snow White).
What to Pair It With
For a daytime look (and, yes, red is fine for day), try a coat of mascara and a healthy dose of blush to balance out the deep
color on your lips, says Andie Markoe-Byrne, a New York City makeup artist. For evening, add black liner and gold shadow.
