Stylish Teal Clothing and Accessories
This elegant (and suddenly omnipresent) jewel tone is a brilliant way to jolt an understated wardrobe, particularly when you pair it with gray, saffron, or violet.
Last year the Pantone Color Institute (the authority on everything color related) declared turquoise the shade of 2010. But at the fall 2011 fashion shows, that turquoise had evolved into a richer, more autumn-friendly teal, as seen on the runways of Fendi, Gucci, and Marc Jacobs. There’s no one perfect teal; it comes in a range of lush tones, from the peacock blue shown here to the deep, aquamarine-like shades on the following slides.
And while black is always a reliable mate for teal, dynamic color pairings—with gray, saffron, and violet—really make a splash.
